The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs

The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs v3 Chapter 3 Part 3

Receiving news that Leon had left for the royal palace, three sub-race exclusive servants gathered inside the student dormitory.

One of them was “Meole,” the exclusive servant of Leon’s older sister, Jenna.

The tall, muscular, cat-eared man stood before Leon’s room along with his companions.

“That Kyle guy betrayed us. He won’t lend us a hand.”

The other two calmed Meole down.

“He’s the saint’s servant. He can’t afford to do any reckless conduct.”

“The elves as a whole are strange people, isn’t that why he refused? More importantly, it’s a good thing we got the key.”

“You mean this?”

Meole, having obtained a key to Leon’s room, made a smirk.

“When that woman went in and out of this room, I took the key and, well, you know. That foolish woman is too easy to deal with.”

Those weren’t words to be said towards a servant’s master, but slavery is a relationship defined purely by contract.

Slaves have no intention to work earnestly.

Unlocking the door, they entered Leon’s room while being cautious of their surroundings.

One of them stood outside the room to be on guard duty, so Meole and the other servant carried a package into the room.

“What do they plan on doing with this thing?”

“As if I’d know. We place this in the guy’s room and we receive money, end of story.”

The exclusive servants hated Leon. One reason being that he defeated the exclusive servants who tried to make a move on Milaine during the school festival.

There was a legitimate reason as well, but nevertheless, from the viewpoint of the exclusive servants, Leon was a unlikeable boy.

Their current action was a form of revenge.

Once the three finished their work, they then left the room.

It was odd that there were exclusive servants in the boys’ dorms, but no boy there dared to question them.

It was the next day after school.

I had a tea ceremony to host.

The guys had to periodically do tea ceremonies or else the girls would spread ill rumors of them.

Well, it’s not like my reputation matters at this point though.

Besides, tea ceremonies, or rather tea, is a hobby I’ve come to enjoy after arriving in this world.

Hmm, such an intellectual hobby indeed suits me.

However, today’s guests were quite unique.

There was the daughter of an earl, “Deirdre Fou Roseblade,” who had blonde hair in ringlets. She wore red lipstick, had a strong-willed appearance──and had an amusing personality.

“You’re quite carefree.”

While in front of a seemingly dissatisfied Deirdre, I drank the tea I made.

“Today’s perfect.”

While I was satisfied, there was another girl there who seemed a bit irritated.

“Clarice Fier Atlee,” Jilk’s former fiancee, spoke with me about royal court affairs.

“Leon, you’re in a very dangerous spot. Do you know that? The Redgrave duke household is weakening and has lost its influence in the royal palace. The emerging Marquis Frampton is advocating that strict action should be taken against you.”

Since I’m the commanding officer for Marie’s bodyguards, it seems that he’s also the one who wants me to be responsible for her debt.

I can’t help but laugh at how high-handed he is.

“The debt is not my responsibility. It’s the responsibility of Marie──or rather, her household.”

Deirdre crossed her legs and put her elbows on the table.

“Foolish. He doesn’t care about the reason. He wants to hunt you down. Furthermore, he wants to steal your airship. They’re just a group of people trying to come up with a pretext.”

“How frightening~.”

It seems that the nobles have quite a lot of spare time if they’re trying to find fault with me.

I can understand his desperate desire to take Luxon away from me, but he’s not the most righteous person for conspiring with others to reach that goal.

“It seems that Marquis Frampton is quite acquainted with her Highness Hertrude. The reason why the principality is quite lenient right now is because of Marquis Frampton’s faction taking control of power.”

Deirdre, perhaps looking for what kind of response I would make, had a serious expression.

She’s a genuine noble’s daughter, so her information on the royal court should be accurate.

In addition, Clarice, being a noble of the royal court, would be even more knowledgeable on the subject.

“Currently, Marquis Frampton is pushing his way trough, a bit forcefully even. Leon, you need to be cautious.”

It seems that this has turned into a troublesome matter, but I don’t really want to get involved with the royal palace.

──That feeling hasn’t changed, even now.

“In that case, just demote me already.”

Deirdre smiled.

“You really are a fool. You think those people are going to be that lenient? Before you know it, they’ll pull the carpet from under you at any given──”

Deirdre’s voice was interrupted by a sound of hurried footsteps.

A great number of knights and soldiers entered the room, pointing their weapons at me.

“Are you Leon Four Baltfault? You’ll have to come with us.”

Clarice stood up.

“──Quite impolite, isn’t it? He’s officially a viscount of the lower-fourth rank.”

The knight raised the corner of his mouth and laughed at the dauntless Clarice.

“Rank has no meaning for a traitor. Now then, come along, brat!”

The knights seized me from both sides and dragged me out of the room.

“A traitor? He’s a hero.”

Deirdre exclaimed as such.

“Hero? You can’t call him a hero when he’s been making secret dealings with the principality. Now then, excuse us.”

The knight had a stern look.

Secret dealings with the principality? Well now, what’s this all about?

The girls’ dorms.

Anjie, entering Hertrude’s room, was breathing a bit roughly since she came in a hurry.

Hertrude, who calmly looked at Anjie, sat down on a chair while crossing her legs, placing a hand on her knee.

It was as if she had been waiting for Anjie.

“You’re in quite a hurry. I’ll forgive your rudeness just this once.”

“What are you planning?”

Hertrude smiled.

“Hmm? Whatever are you talking about? Speak clearly.”

“Are you playing dumb now? Rumors have spread about Leon supposedly working with the principality!”

“Anjelica, it’s not good to suspect people without any proof.”

In response to Hertrude asserting the lack of proof, Anjie readjusted her breathing and spoke.

“It seems that you’re quite close with Marquis Frampton. What’s the reason for going so far to unseat Leon?”

Hertrude spoke a word of pity for Anjie.

“You went to me for that kind of reason? It’s as the rumors say, you’re quite hysterical. Too much of that and you’ll be no more than a mere fool.”

Anjie brought her face closer to Hertrude, who was giggling.

“What are you thinking? Do you really want to go to war? What can you people do when you’ve lost to Leon already?”

The smiling Hertrude began to talk about Leon’s shortcomings.

“You have quite the high evaluation of Mr. Hero, don’t you? I’ve taken a look at the viscount too, just for a short while though. From appearances, he’s an ordinary person. Perhaps he has some potential, but as a knight, he’s below-average.”

Seeing Anjie’s eyebrows shift to express a sense of discomfort, Hertrude laughed even further.

“I’m right, aren’t I? Kind-hearted knights are just a fantasy. A knight who can’t kill in war is useless. Very different from Bandel.”

Hertrude had been looking closely at Leon.

“He’s a knight who stumbled upon a lost item. That familiar he has is related to that lost item, right? It’s a waste of potential to have it only follow his orders.”

Anjie stopped herself from talking about what Leon could do if he was being serious.

No matter how good he may be, he’s still immature as a knight.

This is a world where war is commonplace.

In this world, a knight who can’t kill is unqualified as an adult.

“Do you hate us that much?”

Hertrude’s smile disappeared.

“What do you know? Do you know the grief of the citizen’s whose children, parents, and families were killed? Don’t think that we’ll forgive you for having attacked us so one-sidedly!”

“How naive. It seems you’re the one who knows nothing. The royal palace was right to have you study abroad. What you need──”

Anjie was interrupted by a group of female knights who entered the room.

“Halt! Anjelica, you’re coming with us.”

“──What?”

The female knights surrounded Anjie.

“What are you all doing?”

The female knights smiled and answered her question.

“How ill-mannered. Assaulting her Highness Hertrude.”

“It seems that the duke’s daughter is uncouth.”

“Now then, this way.”

Anjie understood it all. The female knights, originally thought to be Hertrude’s escorts who served to supervise her, were already working with the enemy.

With a face of disgust, the knights restrained her.

Anjie’s gaze shifted from the knights to Hertrude as she questioned her.

“Are you people getting serious?”

Hertrude stood up and whispered to Anjie’s ear.

“This time, the Holfault Kingdom will be stained with blood. And then, this land──”

Anjie’s eyes widened upon hearing the last few words.

“──will sink. Stop us, if you think you can, Anjelica.”

Seeing my devastated room inside the boys’ dorm, I made a face as if I had bitten into a bug.

There was a letter there indicating that I was connected to the principality.

There were a large collection of letters I’ve never seen before in my room.

──I’m quite impressed that they went this far.

A knight stood before me and unfolded a letter.

“You can’t talk your way out of this one. ──To think that the hero was actually conspiring with the enemy nation behind our backs.”

I shifted my gaze to the shameless knight.

“You’re quite devoted to them, aren’t you?”

I scornfully laughed at the knight, who brought his face close to mine.

“You’re quite thorough in unseating me.”

Thereupon, with a smile, the knight hit me in the face.

As I fell over, the knight’s subordinates gathered together.

“Your compliance, traitor!”

After having been punched despite not showing resistance and lying on the floor, Luxon looked at me.

I gestured that I was fine and then let myself be restrained.

──Though I felt a bad premonition before, this really is the worst possible outcome.

“How does it feel to have risen up, only to have your status soon taken away?”

“I thought it was suspicious. It’s impossible for a brat like you to become a viscount.”

“It seems you were involved in some evil deeds behind the scenes. Be prepared for a thorough investigation.”

As I was tied up, schoolboys gathered outside my room.

Among them, I saw the figure of Meole, an exclusive servant.

He looked at me and gave a telling smile.

“Little bastard.”

Meole’s smile heightened in response to my words.

I was kicked from behind and fell down.

I was then forced to get up, pulled by my hair, and as I walked, I also saw schoolgirls and their exclusive servants outside.

“Serves you right.”

“I thought something was strange from the beginning.”

“I suspected him this whole time.”

As I walked along the path the students made, they spoke their mind and threw rubbish at me.

Really now, they’re making a complete reversal in attitude again? Though──there shouldn’t be reason for them to go this far.

The students in the academy made a complete 180, or rather a full 360 back to the beginning.

Strangely, this feels more fitting.

The knight who kicked me from behind spoke.

“Viscount Leon Fou Baltfault──no, you’re just Leon now. Prepare yourself, criminal.”

They listed a variety of charges, but they were all false accusations.

I was restricted, set to be thrown into jail.

“This is not how I wanted to be demoted.”

Garbage flied around as I cracked a joke, and to make matters worse, I was being kicked as well.

Pushing her way through the crowd of people, Livia appeared.

“Leon!”

I made a small wave to Livia, who called out my name, and then walked while trash was being thrown at me.

Among the crowd, Clarice, Deirdre, Daniel, and Raymond looked at me in worry.

Good grief──this otome game world really is the worst place to live in.

  1. Leon is a true saint, he doesn’t get mad at being beaten, falsely accused, framed, and his name and reputation dragged through the dirt.
Anyone else would have given Luxon the order to destroy the kingdom and slaughter anyone that gets in his way.

Maybe Leon is hoping for a fair trial to clear his name when it’s obvious the kingdom doesn’t work that way…

    1. I dunno, considering how underhanded leon is at times,im sure he will send luxon to do some backwork and wreck the others plans, since no one know how far Luxon nets of info can go, also, remember end of last volume, what deal he did with all the other nobles from the countryside? basically he has stealthely blockaded the country, he can make so no one enters and no one gets out, and he still has the trump card with the elves, there is also a detail i remember from volume 1 too, when before the duel the boys destroy Leon room too, Luxon knew of it, you know what that means? im sure he wants to get free and stay demoted, so he doesnt need to search for marriage anymore, but surely will fail with the later

    2. He’s no saint in my eyes, he is too fixated on “this is otome game world”, and doesn’t accept it completely as reality. That’s why he won’t kill, too lenient to enemy characters just because it’s not his job to correct them but the heroine, and yet he keep messing with the game storyline, always getting stand out even he said he don’t want to, and doesn’t clean after his deeds. I call people like him as “Hypocrite” or “power drunk because of Luxon”. Just try take Luxon away from him, and his character will turn 180 backward.

Don’t get me wrong, i really like him back at volume 1, but his character getting more and more like stereotype character that drunk in power and stopped using his head to think about threats and countermeasures. So i hope he will get character development soon like how Livia back in vol 2.

      1. Spoiler
As the queen will explain, in one of the upcoming chapters, they (Anjie’s father is in on this as well) had Leon arrested to keep an eye on him and prevent assassins from having (in their minds) more chances to kill him with no one watching.

        1. Does the spoiler include baiting the principality into getting their fleet destroyed again?

      2. I refuse to believe Leon with Luxon, a futuristic AI that can spy the entire school didn’t know what happened in his own room. I think Leon know and already planned to counter attack the traitor.

          1. He did not expect they go to this length of STUPIDITY, I mean if they use more subtle method and not a rushed one they can still back off and cut ties when something goes south, this level of rushed up plan will leave many trace that can easily used to counter attack.

      3. “Threats and countermeasures”? Surely you jest. You are advocating that he should have the foreign princess or the marquis assassinated, then? And when the plots are inevitably traced back to him, suddenly he’s neck-deep in kingdom politics, that if his hand isn’t forced and Luxon’s true firepower is revealed.

No, his actions make much more sense as they are than if he acted thinking of your “threats and countermeasures” like a standard Chinese Xuanhuan protagonist. That way lies the kingship or death, and he wants nothing to do with either.

        1. There’s no need to go that far, by i means countermeasures are something like his previous move warship sharing to build connections, or at least secure his own room.

      4. ? Im pretty sure that leon already said that he simply doesnt want to feel guily about killing, is there anything wrong with that ? How is he suppose to enjoy his life after destroying the principality and killing thousands ? Its not like the kingdom’s gonna leave him alone after the principality is gone. The game’s storyline messed up itself. And what make u think that there are no countermeasures ?

      5. Spoiler
Just read patiently first the whole volume then post your comment. In this volume, he will laugh at Marie and the others in activating the secret weapon. He will show no mercy on his enemies(killed), the enemy nobles got removed from nobility(killed or removed from the kingdom), defeated the enemy nation from overpowering them(crushed) and the women got their power removed(the men now has more authority than women). And Luxon is fundamentally an enemy in the game killing Luvia and the others because it hates the new humans, Luxon became tame because of the MC, ’cause he is a reincarnated japanese with the DNA of the past humans.

        1. Spoiler
You’re mistaken. In the game Luxon was a space ship item for the heroine to find that Leon bought through a microtransaction that was self sustaining and thus didn’t need money to be spent on repairs or replacing munitions. Leon knew how to register as Luxon’s owner because did it in the game although the game’s Luxon seemed to have less personality and more of a only did orders type item except for automatically repairing and rearming itself. After all Leon was surprised when Luxon concluded the old humans were dead and was going to kill all the new humans. So in the game Luxon never caused any trouble after heroine registered as new owner. Although the real world Luxon might go on a rampage if Leon is killed as Leon being registered own only reason not killing the new humans unless Livia manages to order it through the sphere. Frankly I’m surprised at how easy the Marquis and others think it’ll be to control Luxon if force or kill Leon.

      6. I think your logic is a bit flawed. Power drunk is like those CN MC who just trampling anything on their way. Also Leon didn’t kill because the value of human lives is embedded in his soul exactly because he thinks it’s reality.
My argument is based on the antagonist (otoge protag) in akuyaku reijou ni koi o shite who’s perception of the world is stuck on it being an otoge

        1. Yeah, i’m sorry i used wrong word there, it should be over-reliant to Luxon. I may have different value over life as you, but i don’t think it’s okay to leave someone that tried to kill you alone, i think it’s logical to kill someone that trying to kill you, because they may comeback later to try again and i don’t want to test my luck.

            1. LOL, no no, I’m not like that. It just I’m afraid in case that even if I report them to police, they probably will only get sentenced to a few years in prison, get free, and probably will come back to finish you off. When you died (or one of your family, in case they got involved), best scenario they will be sentenced to death, worse scenario they will only be sentenced to lifetime in prison.

              1. You underestimate the justice system on serious cases. Judges will fuck someone’s life up, and say a murderer gets only 5 years (though that is impossible. most likely theyre their for life), theres a very low chance they’ll be thinking of you when they get out. unless you pissed off a colombian drug lord, or involved in gangs, theres a low chance theyd even remember you.

Going by your logic, the state shouldn’t take prisoners for serious crimes and just go straight to execution. However, most people in the world has thing called humanity. It’s why it was set up in the first place.

Worst case scenario is prison for life? You must be joking. The criminal will spend their life in a cell, away from you and society, with no hope of ever going out. Justice has been served. Revenge will just land you in their place.

                1. Sorry, but i don’t give humanity to another human that stray from humanity itself, or it will just become self satisfaction. What i see as justice is equivalent exchange, if someone rob your right, that person need to be robbed from that right too.

And hey, don’t belittle prison for life, you can still sell drugs from inside the cell. It’s not like every prison secure with no corruption, there are a lot of them still allowing you to have visits, have cellphone / computer, luxurious cell, or even walk out to get holidays (and there are a lot of cases like this).

So yeah, it must be good to live in your country, because it’s not that all flower field and rainbow in mine.

                  1. I live in Honduras. It’s far from anice country or nice people. Still, see you in the news a few years later. Bring justice to inhumans, savior.

        2. You are just naive, just like leon, sparing your enemy lives is not a good idea, cause they will return and take something important away from you, i hope leon understands this before it too late, and his stupidity causes him to lose what matters most in th
          life.

          1. Then I’d hate to be even near you, if causing offense would end with me with a knife in my throat.

Valuing human life is not naive, it’s maturity. There’s other ways to get back at people without shooting up a school or burning down their house, no matter what they do.

            1. Absolutely. In our world, that is more than reasonable. In a fantasy world’s corrupt nation, where a psychopath blackmailed your sister into planting a bomb on your armour and threatened to ruin/take your family’s lives for having the audacity to call out worthless trash for openly bullying a clearly heartbroken girl in a setting that would destroy her reputation and cause serious harm to their own kingdom’s political structure? Yeah, no. Its a world with different values and social norms, and the belief that human life is the most important thing in existence and you should never do certain things even when placed in the insane circumstances Leon is in……. is……well, its not even totally true today, and it certainly has not been true historically. Society’s values/morals change based on the time period and culture one happens to be in. There is no single absolute truth, and claiming that treating people the same no matter the circumstances without even trying to understand and adjust to those different circumstances isn’t exactly bright. Things should always be taken on a case by case basis.

Personally, I think that valuing human life is not naive. But valuing the lives of corrupt monsters over the lives of the people they torment (simply because they have the power and opportunity) is a a mixing up of priorities. This is why law enforcement officers have the training and authority to kill in certain circumstances. Because while human life has value, it is not always equal, even in our world, let alone the one Leon ha found himself in, where an inability to kill is seen as nothing but weakness to be exploited by the powerhungry. Understanding this is ALSO maturity.

Tl;dr? Leon is still too stuck in your frame of mind. The mind of a person (who is presumably) from a civilized nation with a (relatively) competent system of justice that at least in THEORY holds people accountable for their misdeeds, and where violence and killing is so far removed from how he wants to live his life that its not even funny. He hasn’t adjusted his value system to fit his new life. And he hasn’t had to, because he went and got Luxon, who is pretty much an insta-win button who has prevented him from having to get his hands TOO dirty up until now, through sheer overwhelming might. Kinda like Superman. He’s strong enough to believe that he doesn’t NEED to finish off his opponents, because he can just beat them again and again……………….

………wow this went on longer than I intended. Welp, I’m sure I made some sort of point. Maybe?

              1. You’re forgetting something. Leon is not from thag setting. He’s from the “real world.” The setting might not value human lives, but he does. And for him, there’s a better way that going full Lei Fang and kill three generations of each person who wronged him.

You should be careful in defining who’s a monster and who’a not. Because if we go by your logic, I should be putting you down.

          2. So, if you got bullied, you should kill the bullies? Just like Leon know he won’t get killed by having luxon in his side, the law protected us. But it’s not always, as leon still can got killed or his important things got stolen/destroyed or bullied ppl got killed at least socially(and pushing him to suicide). Is it so bad relying to something you have? Like those herbs and pill for CN MC or in IRL, the laws? If so, then i guess I’m quite naive. i haven’t bring any sure kill weapons in my side at all times.

  2. Thanks for the chapter, damn Leon, i think i get what he is going to do, the order will be upturned once again, i hope its soon for a VIVA LA REVOLUCION time, although being demoted is what he wanted too, so he can do something about it, but it felt really short for a chapter but thats my imagination i suppose as i blasted through it

        1. Those 2 girls, Deirdre and Clarice, are really powerful too. I can’t wait to see to see Noel too in the harem.

  3. Damn it… I’m so angry at Leon’s pacifistic nature.
He’s far too kind for his own good.
And Hertrude’s right about something, sparing those who try to kill you is really naive and immature.

    1. Pacifist … when ………. ?
He is worse than Lelouch when it come to scheming, the only moment he looks like pacifist is the moment he has already put his plan in motion waiting the right moment to wreck havoc over his enemy.

      1. There IS a difference between being a schemer and being a killer, you know? Leon goes out of his way not to permanently harm or kill people who are ACTIVELY trying to kill him. And they are NOT doing it for some noble or misguided reason, generally they’re just scum who are doing it because they can, with few exceptions. Don’t compare him to Lelouch. Lelouch had the resolve to do whatever was necessary, become a total monster, if it meant accomplishing his goal. Leon? Leon adamantly refuses to do what’s necessary to protect himself and others, because he doesn’t want to kill under any circumstances. Which is pretty much the definition of a pacifist.

He says its because he doesn’t want to attract attention (and ruin his peaceful mob life), but that’s only a small part of it, as he already does that whether he wants to or not and he knows it. Its just because hes soft. Understandably so, and its actually more believable that a reincarnated person from a relatively peaceful modern nation would NOT have the mindset of a killer………but he’s still soft.

    2. “yes, yes, kill everyone who wronged me. this guy made my life miserable in high school? kill’em. parents made me go to church? kill’em. guy robbed me? kill’em.”

  4. From this chapter, I started to look down on Leon. Hertrude was right about Luxon being wasted in his hands. He is not just wanting to live away from power struggle. He is just running away. With Luxon’s power, he could have done many counter measures in case he got involved in them. But, he didn’t do anything and just continue praying to be peaceful.

    1. Web novel spoilers…

      Spoiler
Funny thing is that if Luxon had gone to Olivia he would only be gathering information on all of the kingdoms. After he finished gathering information on all of the kingdoms he would then proceed to enact a genocide on the new human race. Leon actually becomes the reason this does not happen. Olivia also has Dreams of what could have been later on.

      1. I swear it’s gonna be
        First chapter: everything goes wrong
Next few chapters: everything was rigged from the start

      2. Spoiler

        1. welp i retract the “there’s no counter measures”

          Spoiler

coz the marquis wants fame for stopping the war through diplomacy since principality want all-out war ,but the marquis will be double-crossed by the principality
when luxon plays the video of the dealing happened at front of the audience when the kingdom wants to strike back

    2. Luxon isnt really wasted on him though, since it can only be used by him anyway or would u rather let Marie have it ?The last part though is correct

  5. “He’s a knight who stumbled upon a lost item. That familiar he has is related to that lost item, right? It’s a waste of potential to have it only follow his orders.”

Oh my, she has no idea what this lost item had in store for the current world, if not for leon being a reincarnated person.

    1. Right? There’s a reason Luxon was meant to be simultaneously a tool to help the Saint AND the final boss………

  6. Thanks for the update

Now Leon, there’s no reason to hesitate anymore, the kingdom’s incompetece has beared the fang to you again. Time to purge the traitor.

    1. I want him to walk up to his sister point a gun at her head and in the wise words of Deadpool say “I will shoot ur f@cking cat”.

      1. ……….why Marie, though? I mean, why not the Marquis, or Hertrude, or literally anyone involved with the plot to destroy him?

  7. This look fishy, there’s no way Lux would let this false evidences pass him.
Leon probably want to drag out the whole mole nest.

  8. Wait, if I recalled it right from the spoiler,

    Spoiler
there’d be a civil war, and we’d get to know why the matriarchy system in the kingdom happened and later noblemen’d run away with their real lovers not their official wives

    , right?

  9. Spoiler
Leon will dump his pacifist mentality here onward that will result PSTD for his family, enemies must be killed so yeah massive curb stomping(except the 2nd final boss (need something to sacrifice to win))

also why the principality wants war those princesses were tricked coz their retainers killed their parents coz their parents dont want war on holfault kingdom so they blame the kingdom when the princesses parents were killed

  10. YOU BETTER PREPARE YOUR SELVES FOR LEON’S COMEBACK BASTARDS!!!!!! CANT WAIT TO SEE THE FACE OF THOSE WHO WILL BE LAUGHED BY LEON. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

  11. I’m one of silent reader but..
Okay im pissed with this repetitive plot.
Come on leon you can bite them, take livia and let that fake saint handle the storyline.

guees gonna wait several chapter, hope i can hold myself hnnngg

  12. I’d bet money that Marquis whatever is gonna be roasted. So much so that no matter what he does, his name will come down in history books as a retarded noble.

Also, thank you for the chapter! As always!

  13. I sure hope all those spoilers are correct. Leon was interesting to start off but he’s quickly fallen into the average lazy, unmotivated “living an easy life” protagonist who avoids every plot by being passive.

    1. Hey now, remember the summary for this story on novel updates

“Leon, who really just wants to to live as a shut-in in the countryside, uses that knowledge to unexpectedly raise a ferocious revolt against the women and ikemen.”

I think we’re about see that happen

  14. about that meole(feck those servants) guy he will get

    Spoiler
beheaded by leon’s father since leon told it to his father

    1. Can someone tell me if Leon is going to change his stupid way of thinking? What is waiting to kill his enemies?
Is he waiting for them to hurt livia or Angi?

      1. Feels like it’d turn boring in a flash.
Luxon (the thing that boasts it can instantly destroy the whole world) just kills everything that displeases Leon and it turns into some edge-lord novel where the mc has ∞IQ and the chapters would be filled with pointless descriptions and would eventually consist of mostly girls swooning left and right which turns to over informative sex,and harem bragging just to catch horny readers attention.
It’s like watching one punch but with no parody,no comedy,no action scenes, and saitama is an edge-lord chad.

  15. is this when the MC will finally fucking start killing people? like, he should’ve started since the war thing, but this just pisses me off

  16. MC : I didnt want to kill ppl, mentally it too heavy

readers: when will MC kill ppl, he such a pussy. he have luxon, why he not just killing this ppl. consequences? right timing? proof? brain? whats that? doesnt matter, he can solve everything by killing this ppl right here right now and he’ll life happily after that

owh boi, today I see lot of reader with this kind mentality in here and some mangas that updated today. I guess having MC who can make fault, sometimes follow rules even if they OP, and having their own way to deal problem is wrong. MC should be look like perfect human being, all their decision always right, unbound by rules and the world must bow down to them all the time. what a great story

      1. I think that its more people just get tired of reading about their MC getting stepped on and not making all efforts to fix the situation, even if that means killing or worse. Usually in these kinds of stories, with wildly over the top fuckery directed at the MC, they hit a breaking point much sooner and change their mentality, sometimes even early in the first novel (or have it retroactively explained how they broke in flashbacks or inner monologue, like with Ukei Kaito in Nidome no Yuusha………..or for a less crazy example, Shin from the New Gate).

The issue with that expectation is…….all of those people got backed into a corner, physically or mentally/emotionally, losing something/someone, being betrayed, tortured, SOMETHING……before they changed. Leon never really has, he’s always either been in control or had Luxon to pull him out of the fire, so I personally find it acceptable that he still wants to avoid unnecessary killing for his own mental health and wellbeing. Is it the absolute smartest, most rational and ruthlessly pragmatic choice for him to make? Well, no, but SO FAR it makes sense for Leon to be like that.

        1. But what happens when all the solution to all conflicts is killing? That will get boring, it will go against Leon’s character, and readers will stop sympathising with the character no matter if they cheered up for him at the start.

What’s better, revenge served cold a la Count of Monte Cristo style? The best revenge story ever. Or the average american news where some kid starts mudering other people for revenge?

    1. Has power doesn’t mean other will accept you. …..[Misumi Makoto – MC from Tsuki]
Leon choices is rational for someone who lived in peaceful modern era, no one want to become killer except some psychopath or warmonger.
But most reader read fiction story for their’re liking, the more cruelty toward enemy ,the more pleased they’re got.
From my PoW: Leon is patience while he is twist by society but he is truly good dude (with reasonable asshole 🤣).
He forgive his friends and knew their action were protected their families, He helped Five-color dude and tried to reason with Maria.
Good dude/chick will guide his/her to the right path not genocide one….. they can have their revenge but it doesn’t they tangle another bystanders to join their plot.

  17. All these complaints about Leon being soft or naive for sparing someone’s life. It’s so desensitizing that murder is treated so lightly, even in a medieval fantasy. Good stories know how to skirt the line before crossing it, have a little patience.

    1. Sometimes people just want outright murder while saying its normal…..when in truth its not. Readers cannot comprehend how heavy it is to take one life even if it is a sinner…cuz movies glorified death way too much this days many is magnificently decieved

    2. Don’t think too much about it. Everyone had their edgy phase when they were at their early teens. They’ll grow up.

  18. Im not sure if what I think is right…..but I feel sad for Hertrude seems like she misunderstand the fortune telling of the Elf chief…..she thought her fated one that will help her is that noble traitor…so sad she is not smart enought to notice that time all 4 girls who get their fortune telled by the elf chief is all saying that those fortune is telling that its leon

  19. Srsly, I’d like to see Leon without Luxon, his ‘I win’ button, it would force him to, you know, do something… At this point fucking Marie would be a better mc. It’s funny how similar she is to Leon, both use underhanded tactics, both use game knowledge to get a better life, both are essentially underdogs. Only difference is, in case of Marie, she has clear goals and aspirations, and real obstacles. Unlike Leon who just comes off as a happy go lucky hypocrite. Also, am I the only one who finds Leon flirting with the queen super weird? I mean, the moment he does something like that shouldn’t he get his head chopped off for, you know… offending almost every person in the kingdom?

    TL;DR
Leon a shit, Marie and Leon are similar but Marie is a real character, NTR is a trash fetish.

    1. Leon just released his stressed nothing much.
If he doesn’t has Luxon, he will keep low profile (currently also low profile but his achievements was too great for other to turn blind eyes) but nevertheless he is still the same perhaps he will interfere with Angie duel against the five or try to mend their relationship.

    2. I find the parts where he is flirting or rather expressing his love for the queen without any prior context quite ridiculous as well. I get that he is supposed to be at a mental age similar to her real age, but she is the QUEEN! I mean he is scared of Antje’s father and his power, but not of the Queen? Like wtf man, make up your mind.

Additionally, her blushing to that declaration of Leon, who in fact beat up her son while shaming him in the public, is just a bit stupid.

Then again, i feel like the queen holds not that much power, as all she did until now was scolding her son, without getting involved in politics.

  20. Thanks for the chapter!
Leon seems too happy and cheerful considering he’s just been accused of treason. Might have known about what was going to happen but not specifics. As for why didn’t know about knight before I guess Luxon wasn’t in room and with Leon when evidence planted as Leon didn’t seem to know right away that Meole did it until after evidence found and arrested. Also, what happened to Angie? Even if in trouble for ‘assaulting’ Hertrude at worst she’d be taken to the dean for disciplinary action and maybe suspended or under house arrest for a few days but even if house’s authority declining is still a Duke’s daughter and won’t be expelled or injured. Frankly the evidence finding and capture is too fast and neat to seem anything other than deliberate and the evidence itself too circumstantial. Especially considering the fact he beat the Principality’s invincible Black Knight, handed over the Black Knight’s Adamantine sword, turned over a flute that controls monsters, and gave a ton of higher grade Principality Airships and armor to the Kingdom making the Kingdom stronger. If was going to side with the Principality against Kingdom why raise the Kingdom’s Armor quality and Airship quantity? Although wouldn’t be the first time bad guys would rush someone to judgement on emotional reasons and flimsy evidence rather than authentic logical reasons with strong evidence. Wish Leon would explain comment a few chapters ago on why irritated Principality acting like victims indicating he knows something that overturns their moral high ground and shows deserved what happened or had initiated things themselves.

        1. Oh. Sorry about that. I only know basic conversational ones. I rely to translators and dictionaries on extreme cases like kanji amd negatives.

          1. No need for apologies. I was just wondering. I heavily rely on dictionaries and translation tools as well. If you want, we can discuss further if you have an email or something you want to chat using.

            1. yeah sure. you can email me at

              Spoiler

              Spoiler
actually, i just finished translating (for trying things out) the next chap after this. maybe you can check for consistency or errors?

  21. I’m rather surprised luxon didn’t set up some sort security or warning system for intrusions into Leon’s room

  22. Thank you or the chapter desu~! Caught up within a two and a half day period…was really binto it, hope that translation goes well~!

was also pondering as to what happened since I checked novelupdates and posts were ‘few’ days apart..

    1. Well,stick for a few more chapters.
You’ll see the difference between an op ∞IQ edge-lord “totally normal“ no morale chad mc in an over 40% pointlessly informative sex scenes and/or 「oh,i’m so elite」 bragging and absolutely no tension story.
And an imperfect but actually interesting and conniving leon.

      1. then the story will take a horrible turn if you say that, the tension, conspiracy and action is what made this story interesting, I am afraid that it will become like any other random boring isekai 🙁

        1. If i say what ( ˙꒳˙ )?
The tension, conspiracies and action does make the story interesting but those are just the butter in this pancake of a story.
Leons morals and roundabout solutions are the syrup, and the rage inducing world and leon being in predicaments is the pancake base. (Just my opinion)

  23. Our boy leon here is merely holding his cards close to him and is waiting for the best moment to strike, if he reveals his hand too early he runs the risk of having enemies within the shadows, if he waits for all his enemies to reveal himself then he has a very nice list of all the people he has to ruin.

Also though in any other story i would never say this, but i thinks its high time the slaves were reminded of their place in society

  24. Looks like Leon’s no kill policy is biting him in the butt…nobody is afraid of ticking him off now. I can’t get over how friggin’ retarded the nobles are being though. You hate Leon so much that you want to get rid of him even though he single-handedly defeated the Principality AND you’re going to let yourself be manipulated by the Principality to do it even though they hate your guts? Were nobles ever this stupid?

  25. Thanks for the chapter desu~

Leon’s consistency even when he’s being beaten up is quite similar to Cid Kagenou(Eminence in the Shadows)

  26. Buff, this part of the plot is so weak, I like this novel a lot, but some parts are……. They enter on his room, left a lettter and luxor can’t see or sense anything? The same robot who can read a pile of cards without open it? Ehm…., I can’t buy it
