The World of Otome Games is Tough for Mobs v2 Chapter 12 Part 1

Say, in days bygone, nobles wanted statuses and ranks corresponding to the actions they did, right?

I was currently in the lower fifth rank. The upper fifth rank had essentially been guaranteed to me, though! How did things come to this?

The kingdom was basically saying that they had expectations for me now.

I had been put into a very difficult position. In addition to the contributions and other such things regular nobles had to do, I also had to do a suitable amount of work in the event of a war. Promotions were grave matters.

If a war sprung up, it would difficult for me to reject a request to depart for the front, even if I was a student. Due to that, I had decided to carry out a few preparatory steps.

So, I was currently in a pub, gathering with boys of the same group as me and having a good time there.

“Leon, do you really have airships?”

“I’m envious. They’re warships, right?”

“Just having an airship alone is desirable. My household doesn’t have any.”

Heirs of noble households from the countryside had gathered at the pub, with me being the leading guest of the banquet.

People were envious, and there were also those harboring jealousy. ──That was within expectations.

“They’re in maintenance right now. Though as a matter of fact──I’m actually troubled by how many I have.”

When hearing that, the boys stared daggers at me.

Daniel gulped.

“You guys want them?”

Raymond immediately stood up.

He desperately wanted an airship since it meant being able to succeed his house in the future. There was a big difference between having one and not having one. However, it would cost a lot of money to buy one.

The maintenance costs were nothing to sneeze at either.

Many barons used cheap, old airships.

“W, what are you playing at?”

Everyone knew the value in state-of-the-art, superior airships made by the principality. They knew that they couldn’t just selfishly take them. Rather, I held good will towards them and their inability to simply tell me to hand them over.

Everyone’s gaze surrounded me as I leisurely held my drink to my mouth.

“In fact, I’ve decided to set up a factory in my household. That’s where maintenance for the ships will occur. If you entrust ‘everything’ to me in terms of their maintenance──perhaps I can offer them to you for free.”

The boys’ gazes immediately swarmed around me.

“A, are you really saying something so opportune?”

“Could it be that they’re defective?”

“But they’re airships from the principality, right? They’re not defective as long as they can move.”

I sincerely confronted the boys, who couldn’t help but feel uneasy.

“I want you guys to be relieved. I also have something to gain here too. Besides, I vow not to swindle you guys through shoddy repairs or anything similar.”

I hated the tactic of offering cheap products that came with expensive maintenance costs.

Even so, that didn’t clear their doubts, causing me to sigh.

“I get it. I’ll also add in four units of armor per airship. Armor from the principality, mind you. I can guarantee their quality.”

Raymond tried to dizzily approach me while Daniel held him back.

“W, wait, Raymond! This is Leon we’re talking about. He’ll suck you dry to the bone!”

“Ah! Right!”

My delicate heart screamed in response to the cruel evaluation my friends had of me.

The others also had looks of suspicion towards me. It seemed isolating to find that fellow groupmates were treating me coldly, even when we all came here to have a good chat.

“Sorry. I just thought it make for good publicity to give you guys airships. I understand. I’ll take my business elsewhere.”

Daniel stopped me.

“Wait! I, is it really free? You’re not going to charge us afterwards or give us anything defective?!”

“I want your trust. I am not a man who spews lies.”

It was sad how several boys replied with “Liar,” but the truth was that I wasn’t lying.

I was planning to do proper business.

I was prepared to have a factory at my household, and I would be the owner of it. For the future, I was thinking about using my earnings from the factory to make contributions to the kingdom. Getting promoted was a grave matter. I needed to earn money.

Perhaps some would claim that I had enough from remunerations. That would be incorrect, though. There was no point in banking on temporary money when asked to make a contribution every year. I would have nothing left before even a decade passes.

I definitely had to make money.

No matter how much thought I put into it, the floating island I owned would only be able to earn at around the level of a semi-baron house.

I even thought about having it be a tourist spot, but this was a dangerous world filled with monsters and sky pirates. There would be few customers.

Therefore, I had thought about setting up a factory in other to increase my sources of future income.

“As if I would sell a broken airship. I would lose the trust I need for future business. I would instantly have no customers for the factory. So, I have to make some concessions in order to get customers. Fortunately, I’ve got some airships that I picked up.”

I promoted the deal while remembering how it was done in my previous world.

“Right now, I’ve got airships and armor free of charge, a grand total of zero dia! No need to worry about the maintenance! I’ll take care of it! I promise to charge reasonable prices. I’ll even put it down on paper.”

One by one, the boys raised their hands.

“I, I’ll do it!” “M, me too!” “Me too!”

With a smile, I prepared contracts and handed them to the boys.

“Yes, write your name down on this field and I’ll send them over to your household. You’ll have to explain it to your parents as well. Oh, and if you have any old airships, I’ll buy them.”

Seeing everyone cheerfully taking the documents, I grinned.

“Everyone──let’s keep in touch as pals.”

──Thanks for taking the initiative on the freebies.

Gentlemen, I hope you will continue to do your very best from now on. My airship maintenance schema was within reach, and now that I had some loyal friends, a smile appeared on my face.

There was a duke residence within the royal capital.

Anjie had been summoned to her older brother, “Gilbert”, on a holiday.

“Brother, is there a problem?”

Gilbert made a slightly troubled expression.

There was a document on his table which he showed to Anjie.

“This? This is a contract about the buying and selling of airships, right?”

“Right. It seems that Leon has been handing them out to baron households.”

Hearing that, Anjie felt an ominous premonition. She wondered if the duke household had any qualms with Leon’s conduct.

“S, sorry. I’ll stop him at once.”

“There’s no need for that. The circulation of airships isn’t the problem.”

She was relieved after hearing that there was no problem.

However, Anjie wondered why she had been called.

“Then what is this about?”

“It seems that he had set up a factory at his household. It seems that he’s doing rapid maintenance on airships and offering them to baron homes for free. Perhaps his goal is publicity──but don’t you think it seems a little too hasty? I’m worried about what someone like him, who single-handedly thwarted the principality, is thinking.”

Gilbert told Anjie that the kingdom was lightly thinking about this matter as well.

“The royal palace isn’t taking the principality seriously after it had been knocked down by students. Even though the principality has been hindered, it seems that the kingdom is being quite careless towards them. However, the person who fought in the battle is now strengthening his vigilance. What do you think of this?”

He had asked Anjie if there was anything she had to say.

“I, I don’t know. It’s just──”

“It’s just that──he has in fact suddenly been busy. Since then, he’s been training diligently and visiting the dungeon frequently.”

Leon told her that he lost confidence after getting beaten up by the Black Knight, and that he was working harder because of that, but Anjie thought about it.

(Is he being cautious about the principality? Even when the royal palace isn’t?)

It seemed that the kingdom didn’t think of the principality as a threat since they had been beaten by students of the academy.

When they heard that the Black Knight had lost as well, they dismissed him as a famous knight who had grown old.

Gilbert tapped the desk with his fingers.

It seemed to Anjie that her older brother was irritated.

“I wonder if we should be alert. I’d also like to discuss the matter of the principality in full later on, but right now the Redgrave family has little influential power. Keep in mind that we are falling behind.”

Anjie then remembered about Hertrude.

“How was her Highness Hertrude dealt with?”

“Dealt with? I can only say that it was naive. It turned into discussions about her studying abroad in the kingdom. Father did oppose it, though. I heard that there was a marquis who didn’t yield.”

Anjie’s eyes widened.

(So father’s influence has fallen by that much. Hearing that a marquis can overshadow him──is troubling.)

Anjie was alert about the expanding influence of the opposing faction.

“The marquis said that it was an opportunity to learn about the country’s strength within the academy. It seems he wants to use this opportunity to take in her Highness the princess and make the principality a subsidiary of the kingdom once more. It seemed that he also tried to condemn us for the matter of the Olfery earl household, but that was quickly cut down.”

The Olfery earl household belonged to same faction as that marquis household.

However, they were quickly punished after the matter of the sky pirates, and their status as nobles, their assets, their territory, and everything else had been forfeit.

The earl daughter who picked a quarrel with Leon had lost everything.

She had done dirty work, and was soon cast away when she made a blunder.

(At this point, I might start to pity that woman.)

Anjie felt a bit of sympathy for the earl daughter. After all, the path awaiting her was not an easy one by any means.

Gilbert changed the topic.

“This may be off topic, but it seems that you’ve gotten along rather well with the honor student.”

As Anjie hung her head, Gilbert continued.

“You have no reason to get along with people any more than necessary.”

Anjie sent Gilbert a look of strong will.

“Sh, she is my friend. This does not concern you.”

Gilbert quietly gazed at Anjie, but soon recognized that his sister wouldn’t back down.

“Do as you please.”

“I, is that fine?”

“If you’re going that far, then I won’t interfere. Besides, Father and I both feel indebted after this matter. However, if she is your dear friend, then you must protect her yourself.”

“R, right!”

“In addition, we need to reselect the people who will stand by you.”

“──What will happen to those two?”

When asked about the two girls who had betrayed Anjie, Gilbert made an eerie smile.

“Do you want to know?”

“──No, that was a foolish question.”

Anjie understood that the two followers, who she knew since childhood, wouldn’t be let off without retribution.

However, she felt complicated on the inside.

Though she had emotional wounds from the betrayal, more prominent to her were Leon and Livia, who had risked their lives to save her.

(──Perhaps I have been blessed.)

She thought as such while comparing herself to the earl daughter, who had excessively coerced those around her into obeying her.

Once Gilbert finished talking about Earl Olfery and the two traitors, he asked a question, as if prying a bit into something.

“Also──what do you think of Leon?”

“What do I think?”

“Yes, correct. I haven’t heard about who he has decided on for a marriage partner. He has done many things and gotten promoted. I believe it would be a problem if he got married to a bad partner.”

Anjie knew that Gilbert was thinking about taking in Leon. Indeed, it would be very helpful to have Leon as an ally.

Furthermore, there was also a side of him that was easy to control.

Him offering state-of-the-art airships and armor from the principality was evidence of that.

If they monopolized this factor, their own war potential would increase, but on the contrary, it would also be a hazard.

Both the royal palace and duke household would probably be on guard.

Even though he was a baron from a remote region, his numerous airships would become a threat. In the blink of an eye, he could instantly take control over other floating islands and become one giant force.

There had been many worries about him capturing surrounding territories and bearing his fangs against the kingdom.

Gilbert and the others seemed to recognize that Leon wouldn’t do that.

(I was planning to warn him if he got carried away, but since he’s just distributing them to barons, my brother isn’t even considering him a threat.)

It seemed that he was strengthening his connections, but both the royal palace and duke household judged that what he was doing wasn’t a problem.

What Leon had on hand were broken airships and armor. He had presented the ones in good condition to the royal palace and duke house──to the point that it made them say “Are you really okay with that?!”

It seemed like he was a knight who selflessly disregarded profit, and some even gossiped that he was the duke household’s new loyal dog.

Anjie reported Leon’s search for marriage to Gilbert.

“Since he has been busy recently, he hasn’t seen any women. T, the girls hate him.”

Gilbert held his hand over his forehead.

“I don’t understand. Why aren’t they looking at him? He’s a knight who will soon get promoted to the upper fifth rank, and yet women aren’t looking his way──”

Anjie began suspecting what Gilbert was saying.

“Brother, isn’t Leon in the lower fifth rank? I heard that he would get promoted after graduation, though.”

Gilbert looked at Anjie, and felt slightly embarrassed that he had forgotten to tell her.

“Sorry. I forget to tell you. The truth is──”

    1. Also, “influence has by fallen that much” should be “fallen by that” and “I believe it would a problem if he got married to a bad partner.” should have a “be” in there.

      1. Even “thought” he was a baron from a remote region
There had been many worries about him capturing surrounding territories and bearing his fangs “to” the kingdom

  1. The airship gifting was moronic. These are people who dislike him so much that they treat an unimaginably lavish gift as poison. The likelihood of them showing him any future loyalty is nil. He could have used them to buy a marriage engagement like he keeps obsessing over, or leased them to merchants as part of a long-term business venture.

What he did instead is tantamount to a building owner giving away a rental property so that he can work as the building manager.

    1. If he was gonna monopolize on the airships he will be a threat to the royal family and other nobles, so he instead gave away the airships to make him less of a target and at the same time make a profit of having a workshop

      1. Again, the problem isn’t that he refuses to hoard them. The problem is that he is giving them away to those who offer him negligible or even negative benefit, not even a token show of loyalty or trust. His entire idea about using this to spearhead a manufacturing industry in his territory is childish and easily overturned. There is nothing of real consequence binding the recipients of his gifts to actually maintain the contract.

    2. I think the actual goal here is to dissipate his growing arsenal and prevent being viewed as a threat while at the same time increasing the kingdom overall war potential for when thing get rolling with the approaching game scenario, furthermore since they’ve signed contract to exclusively entrust maintenance to him he’ll have steady income and jumpstart his factory’s fameand credibility

      1. If his goal was the military strengthening of the nation, donating those resources to untitled children is an utterly incompetent way to go about it. As for the contracts, unless they’re backed by literal magical compulsion they aren’t worth the paper they’re written on. Leon is an acknowledged enemy to to numerous powerful interests, it would be trivial to claim some malfeasance on his part to have the contract nullified. He wouldn’t even be able to retaliate, as it would only lend credence to the claim.

    3. Theres no point in keeping those airships and armor when he has Luxon, also keep in mind that Leon doesnt have a solid support like having manpower to actually man those equipment. He is buying influence which would play out in the long run.

      1. 1.) I said nothing about military use. I directly mentioned that there are vastly superior commercial uses.
2.) I never said anything about Leon using them personally, and in fact alluded to the contrary.
3.) There is no influence to buy. The men he is making a dubious investment in aren’t even acknowledged heirs, even if you assume they will somehow show loyalty.

    4. It’s true they were skeptical because of Leon’s notorious grandstanding during gambling events, but these were the Baron households he dealt with, and no one of a higher ranking. These are the people of his friend’s caste, so they aren’t ones who necessarily dislike him unless they were burned by betting against him previously (which some were).

However the main suspicion is that it’s a deal “too good to be true”. Everyone was rightly anticipating a catch of some sort, as seeing through Leon’s ridiculous I-wanna-be-a-mob mentality is literally beyond them. It’s not just a great deal, it’s a fantastic one, and not being able to understand his angle would anyone rational to have reservations.

      1. Two of the people treating him as a cheat here are those who already betrayed him once over far less. He even helped them to earn a portion of the duel winnings and forgave them as a matter of course. With as magnanimous he has been toward them in the past, it is outright insulting that they would so openly insult further generosity.

    5. whoa harsh, though it;s totally a good thinking, if he hoard it, the palace would consider him a threat, he is dangerous enough with his single ship that can take an entire invasion army, and, having a ship would raise those bunch status at home, they can even contend for the succession with it, and remember, all those ship and armor are broken, and who’s the one fixing it? luxon!, now they won’t be able to do maintenance anywhere else because luxon definitely tamper with the tech that nobody can deal with, that make those guys totally reliant to leon factory, that just how important having a ship meant, and because of it and the contract, they can’t go against leon, boom, instant army for becks and call, and yes he really do it, to the point all those guys crying for being scammed

and he only sold it to his classmate, not the noble bunch that kissing the rotten girl feet, but his own clique that having trouble trying to get a girl

      1. They have absolutely no obligation to fight for him. Even if he threatens to stop maintaining the things given to them, they don’t stand to lose a single thing. They even still come out with a net gain just from the salvage value of usable components like the float stones.

        1. man, i really2 want to refute this but it would turn into a spoiler to continue, well, they still obey him anyway in the end, out of obligation that come outta nowhere from your point of view

          1. nah. Just remember to snack Trans in the face with the novel explanation once the relevant chapter comes out. Trans seems not to know about existential motivation of nobility and How they form government to deal with bigger threats. Threats like raiders that’ll strip their sitting duck azz clean (At thier isolated floating island) If there id no larger coallition to send aid.

    6. “People who dislike him so much” huh?? Did you by any chance forgot to read the part where leon said the “having good time”???

    7. Having read the raws …

there is a major catch in him giving away the airships for free. They all live on sky islands. The only way to get there is by … airships … They are selling their old airships, replaced by new state of the art airships that can you only be maintained by … Lucion, LOL.

      1. I read it. It only works out that way because of plot convenience. There was nothing preventing them from simply washing their hands of the whole affair. Being gifted a ship and then losing said ship doesn’t somehow magically make you have less than you began with.

        1. Well except for the fact that this ‘plot convenience’ of the floating islands IS the story setting from the beginning and can hardly be dismissed.
I don’t see how you’d think they can wash their hand of the matter of war when one side threatens to take their land while the other side will purge/ostracize You for being a disloyal coward for ignoring the call to arms.

        2. You are missing a point here, all barón households, live in floating islands, he is giving them his own brand of luxon altered airships, while BUYING THE OLD SHIPS of their households, so what would happen if they go against leon? Leon orders luxon to retrieve the ship and make it imposible to be pilotes by the one of the contract and BOOM the household is totally isolated, at mercy of any sky pirate, and thats another catch as to why “sell them” to the childrens, as they are idiots, they wont catch the trap behind, remember how luxon can make stuff unable to be pilotes by anyone it doesnt want to, also leon to do upgrades to his own equipment, he has to go to a factory, he uses his own one to be sneaky at it, since he got the sword of the black knight, its all basically a ploy of him, its pretty sneaky if considered from the right angle given to us, also, its obvious he did that party with people that didnt bet against him and was on friendly terms, as he wanted to have a “good chat”

          1. Not really missing the Point as I won’t bother to highlight a previous arguement that Trans can’t address and thus brushes aside as a ‘plot convenience’.

Instead I present an broader view of the situation (another angle) that Trans touches on (why those barons would fight) and see How he can explain they won’t given all the consequences.

  2. So the war arc is over? I mean, he beat the Black Knight, the last boss if im not wrong. Oh and what happened to them? Im dying to know, guess ill have to wait for the next update. Thanks for the chapter

    1. Spoiler
That otome game have 2 sequels. And the Black Knight is alive and will appear in future. This is just a beginning.

  3. So many flags!!! Maybe Hertrude is his third harem member. Also, why leave it hanging there AUTHOR!!! I really want to know what the truth is.

    1. Eh no.
      1. Leon made it clear he has no interest in …..’washboards’. Hertrude is even more so than Marie is.

      2. The principality pretty much brainwashed her into grieving about past conflicts such that she was absolutely confident her troops wouldn’t give up even with her hostage (until Leon beat their lights out)

Don’t bother trying to guess 3rd harem girl (unless you count the queen or Claris-senpai <3)

cause Leon doesn't get a chance to 'charm' another girl until he study 'overseas' in an exchange program

      1. Could you spoil I want to know Hertrude relationship with other in vol3 and after

Is she marry with julian? or who? (If it’s julian I would cry T_T)

        1. Hertrude can’t really develope a relationship cause

Principalty breaks down. She become political prisoner pernamently while the kingdom purges all the Noblilty traitors helping the principality. The 5 idiots are stuck to Marie and sent with Leon to ‘foreign’ studies to avoid assasination attempts during the purge. The foreign academy is the story place of the Otome game sequel.
Expect more shitty ikemens and pitiful lady ‘MC’ being cared for by Leon

  4. ” the truth is………….I ate last week spaghetti in the fridge!! now my stomach are hurting like hell !! (> W <`) help meh!! "

  5. Thanks for the chapter

Wait is he just giving away contract to become his “friends(vassals)”. Knowing Leon there’s something behind it.

  6. Thanks for the chapter

Did Leon just get some Vassals… I mean “Friends”. I hardly believe he do this to avoid suspicion of the kingdom.

    1. He himself just want a “reason” to open warship factory and he only know low rank nobles which make big shot ignore his deed.
But I bet that these boys will become his war faction in the future.
Leon might rope them up along his promotion to slow down his progress

    2. While the story may try to treat it that way, Leon doesn’t actually have any personal influence with which to offer patronage. All they would have to do to escape any obligation laid by him is throw in their lot with an existing faction.

    3. It seems so, see how he asks them to sell him THEIR OLD AIRSHIPS, in a world where all plots of lands are separated floating islands meaning that flying vehicles are a must, so you know what that means? We know from the fight and all that luxon can autopilot all the things he tinkers with, now, many nobles from low positions will get a free luxon tinkered airship, with mech suits as a freebie, you know what would happen if someone betrayed leon? They get basically cut off from the world, and if they try to do something, the mechs will quell them like nothing, couple that with the fact that if leon used the black knight sword analysis info to upgrade all his equipment, included the mechs and warshipshe gave, who could possibly oppose him? And in the superfluous case there were someone, he stills has the mothership of luxon main body which can obliterate any army from way high like the stratosphere, and go into outer space easily

  7. How about the possibllity of Hertrude being betrothed to Leon as mean of bargain between the Kingdom and Principality. Oh don’t mind me, I’m spouting nonsense.

    1. That would be a direct and open provocation of the Principality. It’s the kind of action taken when you want to publicly humiliate the war’s loser.

    2. While it’s not impossible, i think the Kingdom won’t agree to it. I mean, Hertrude is just minor princess form the Principality that can be replaced easily, and giving Leon to her would mean the Kingdom will lost some control over Leon.

  8. They aren’t looking at him because he plundered their wealth and put them into serious debt.
Not exactly the most romantic move on his part.

  9. Gilbert: he isn’t going out with anyone, right?
Anjie: i think none, yet. maybe. probably.
Gilbert: does he have someone he fancy?
Anjie: none, yet i know his preferences. *whispers* like the queen.
Gilbert: good. then you will marry him.
Anjie: Ehhhh!!!??! but, my friend have feelings to him! i dont want to betray her! i want to stay her friend!
Gilbert: then, let’s make her marry Leon too. That way, you can stay as her friend.
    Anjie: Really?
Gilbert: really. now, we have to make preparations to make it happen. give me a hand anjie.
Anjie: *salutes* Understood dear brother. Right away.

    Leon: Acchoo!! *shudder*
    Livia: *suddenly in good mood*

Me: Thanks for the chapter. i thought that title means rematch with the old man.
Other leechers: *reading without a date today*

  10. Thanks for the chapter! The marquis faction either is composed of inbred, corrupt idiots, or they are being maneuvered by an anti-kingdom power. Or both. As for the airships, I suspect Leon gifted the better ones to the kingdom both to gain future royal support and downplay himself as a future threat to the kingdom. Trying to prevent being sucked into political intrigue appears to be part of his modus operandi. He wants to hide how wealthy he really is due to Luxon and the island by appearing as someone who wins wealth through his own effort. If he actually fixed the all the remaining airships via Luxon, that would make people curious. Ditto if he suddenly pulled the cash out to pay someone else to do it for him. Setting up the repair factory as per Luxon’s suggestion would provide a legitimate means of income, and giving airships to the lesser nobles would gain him future customers, generate good will, and as some have speculated, possibly provide a future air naval force for later conflicts. All the signs do indicate something will later happen. Remember, as long as romance isn’t involved, Leon’s usually 2 or 3 steps ahead of everyone else. As well, he’s decided that he can’t be just a mob if he wants to stand by Livia and Anjie, so the mob mentality thing will likely be less of a factor.

  11. Thanks for tye chapter! As i expected from you!

Am just i who think Leon just to Naive? Or stupid? I know that he can make a ton of gold with Luxon power, but still i can’t see any merits that equal with free airship.

And wow, why the kingdom feels like closed her eyes to Leon? We talk about one person who flip the table of invasion war just with his self, ehatci mean is if i was the King i will bind him to the country with political marriage with the princess or something like that.

    1. You will see the true reason for which Leon gave the ships for “free” ont he next volume.

Let’s just say while what he said is true that he wasn’t giving anything defective nor he will overcharge them with the maintenance, the reason he gave the airships for free was anything but goodwill.

    2. Those familiar with the Principality and along the border know what kind of feat Leon did, but those living within the capital and rest of the kingdom just assume the vanguard unit wasn’t that dangerous, and that the Black Knight was so old a bunch of high school brats could beat him. They’re incapable of recognizing his achievement because they don’t want to, as it’s absurd compared to common sense and that’s scary.

But they’ll learn one day. They’ll all learn…

    1. So, I {{was}} currently in a pub, gathering with boys of the same group as me and having a good time there.

      Add was

  12. Thanks for the chapter desu~

Do you really think he will give those airship for free without benefits?

I’m not good at explaining things so I’ll tell you some important factors why he wanted to give those airship to them.

    – Less threat, The Kingdom are vigilant right now after that incident, so they will take it as a manpower/support for their nation.

    – You guys are stupid if you think its dumb giving away those airship for free by Leon. Actually, Leon’s main target is not the students themselves, but their HOUSEHOLDS.

    – Giving away those airship is a double edge sword, He will gain profits, but at the same time some might take advantage of it and some might support him, it’s quite a gamble if you ask me.

    1. Actually, the queen and Angie’s father seem to be the only ones somewhat vigilant as it seems a lot of the idiot nobles like a Marquis on a faction opposing Angie’s family believe the Principality little threat since the vanguard was defeated by students. Although more airshiips spread around will help the households get stronger and be able to do more when the main force attacks. Probably have a few months at the least though since Principality will want to find out more about Leon and students who defeated their vanguard and all those monsters first. Might even get in contact with Princess to have her spy on students in academy and seduce Leon. Also, as you said he’s not aiming at students but Households as well along with generating publicity to use his services and generate steady income.

    2. He maybe giving out those ships so that he would have less ships on paper and he would less likely to appear as a threat. With the ship under others, they will be the one to spend maintenance on it, and poof profits for him.

But what if every ship he hands out can be REMOTELY OVERDRIVEN? Partner could be remotely controlled through Luxon, there’s nothing stopping Leon from installing it to the other ships.

      Boom. No down sides.
And also Leon hates to gamble if he won’t win 100% XD

  13. Thanks for the translation!
Those idiot nobles seem determined to bring everyone down with their assumptions. Leon’s Arroganz was pierced through by the Black Knight’s sword while it didn’t suffer a scratch even from direct damage during the duel. So putting the Principality’s forces down due to being beaten by students is crazy. Especially considering the Vanguard unit, not the main force, were able to summon and control so many monsters. If the monsters were so easy to handle they wouldn’t still be having trouble with them attacking airships. Hopefully the queen and Angie’s father will realize that Leon still considers the Principality a threat, concur and take action themselves. With any luck Leon will be able to raise the country’s attack/defense capabilities while earning enough to pay whatever taxes are required of the rank Gilbert is about to tell Angie. Wonder if Hertrude will try to seduce Leon at the school, although hope the Black Knight’s sword is sent to the church to be decursed or locked up so never used again. Be nice if Leon gets along better with Angie and Livia so both become his full wives rather than one a mistress or left behind. Does the country support polygamy or is it like have one official spouse of proper linage and can have several mistresses as long as they remain unofficial? Also, how the heck is Leon suppose to find, sort through, and settle immigrants on his land since it’d appear weak without a populace or living defense force?

  14. Kyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa a cliffhanger!!!!!!!! Let me cry hard. TvT you torture.

What is “…the truth is…….”? What is?!!!!!!

He got a gigantic promotion, right? Right?!!!!!!

    1. Yes he’s promoted to upper 3rd rank and the queen’s personal lap dog! Seriously probably raised above Baron rank to something the idiot girls would be tempted to latch onto. Court rank probably stays the same as was already raised recently.

  15. “Since he has been busy recently, he hasn’t seen any women. Th, the girls hate him.”

I don’t know if the “th” is intentional, like a sound effect, but I’ve never seen a sound effect like that. Consider fixing, if it’s indeed broken?

    Anyways, onwards to my theory.
I think the airships can be remotely controlled by Luxon, so Leon is parking his cannons right in front of their front door.

I also see the Kingdom acting irrationally. The principality launched a major attack and almost slaughtered all of their students on a field trip. The crisis was adverted because of the god himself, but that doesn’t mean the principality is weak. I think someone is influencing them.

Also, Hertrude should probably be placed under Leon’s custody, though it’ll never happen.

Also, how tf are you guys posting spoilers, because I thought only volume 2 was out so far?

    I want Friend back. ;-;

    1. Don’t know for sure but they’re probably reading ahead in the web novel version or read the raws themselves. Personally I’m just guessing and theorizing as this site is my only source for LN and manga really slow.

  16. Um because i yesterday not give comment WANT MORE u dont upload new chapter ? I waiting the chapte mr TL please give me daily dosis of excitement

Oh by the way why u guys pick up novel um what the title i forgot um um my reality not otome game but renai game i think something like that. The story interesting in my opinion and it would be great if that project can be translated by excellent TL like u 😀

Connections is all he need… but I just can’t comprehend why the kingdom is so dump in this world.. oh! I get it.. it’s because it’s an otome game.. The barons are going to rise too much if Leon keeps giving them these stuff..
And I guess the Redgrave family agrees for the ship to sail.

  18. “to the upper fifth rank”
LOL I was wondering why he didnt was promoted but they didnt tell him because it was a promotion in in the same rank?
